We had a great time with The Spring Hillbillies at Moondog's. The accoustic duo played a fun set with banjo, pedal steel, national steel and mandolin. This was followed by a marathon set from Mahajibee that lasted over 2 hours long. Followed by another set lasting for about an hour. What can we say? When you're in the mood to play the blues there's just no stopping you!

Big Tim was unable to make this show so Lonny had to jump from guitar to bass. Our friend, Adrian Niles, played a great set mixing his own material with some cover tunes. With Adrian and Jon on the guitars the night was magic. They were playing some of the softest, nastiest, and soulful blues I heard in a while. We even added a trumpet on a few of the tunes and “Things I used to do” & “Rich man’s woman” were as bluesy as blues can get thanks to Sean McBrearty. You will see Adrian & Sean play with Mahajibee again. Big Tim is the cornerstone of the band and after 9 years it was very strange not having him there with us. We dedicated the entire second set to him and I wish we would’ve taped it. Lonny did a fantastic job on bass on very short notice. For a $5 cover and a chance to win tickets to the Monday Night Steelers v Ravens game, not to mention Adrian, Sean, and Mahajibee, it was a good night, a real good night for the blues.

The weather was great as were the true-blues fans from Scottdale, PA. The sound crew was familiar with us which is always a huge help and knowing the work they do we knew it was going to sound great. Our 90 min set was filled with originals and covers that we love to play. The Gazebo was a perfect place to play some Sunday afternoon blues. We had a good time at The Scottdale Fall Festival, they run a top-notch show!

This was our second year playing the McKeesport Rib Cook-off. It was a beautiful day and you could smell the BBQ everywhere you went. So I had to have some (Thanks Big Girls BBQ you're ribs were great!) Thanks to all the good folks from Avonworth, Jefferson Hills, and the Blues Society for their support. Lonny sampled all the BBQ sauce again this year and we'll let you know who his winner is. The Mad Hatters and Soft Wind also played very enjoyable sets of rock and oldies. It's worth the price: Free and All Ages!

We had a great time at the Snowshoe Mountain Resort. Wallace Coleman sounded terrific! Tom Holcomb sounded great and did an excellent job as MC. The Village is the perfect spot to throw a big ol’ blues party with Blues, Brews, and BBQ and that’s just was it was. We welcome all the new Mahajibee fans from all over especially Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia (Wheeling, Elkins, and Fairmont). We had a great time playing and riding the ski lift. We can’t say enough about the volunteers and the hospitality, you all are great. The invitation was extended for us to come back and we definitely will return and hopefully soon!
