Mahajibee Blues: Schedule

Aug 16, 2008 THE BREWS, BLUES, AND BBQ FESTIVAL

We had a great time at the Snowshoe Mountain Resort. Wallace Coleman sounded terrific! Tom Holcomb sounded great and did an excellent job as MC. The Village is the perfect spot to throw a big ol’ blues party with Blues, Brews, and BBQ and that’s just was it was. We welcome all the new Mahajibee fans from all over especially Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia (Wheeling, Elkins, and Fairmont). We had a great time playing and riding the ski lift. We can’t say enough about the volunteers and the hospitality, you all are great. The invitation was extended for us to come back and we definitely will return and hopefully soon! Special Thanks to Cheryl Cassell!

Aug 5, 2008 USX TOWER & PLAZA Pittsburgh PA USA

Rained out!!
We are in the process of rescheduling this gig.

Aug 3, 2008 WASHINGTON CRUISERS SUPER CRUISE Washington PA USA

Mother Nature cooperated and gave us a beautiful day this year and we were able to play two sets for all the good folks at the Super Cruise. Harold, from O'Neil Pro Sounds did another great job and special thanks to the DJ for letting Harold patch us into his system so that we were heard throughout the entire complex. That was cool! The cars and trucks were shined up and looked immaculate. The proceeds from the event were donated to The Ronald McDonald House and it was our pleasure to do our small part and chip in.

Jul 24, 2008 2008 JP MORGAN CHASE SUMMER CONCERT SERIES Steubenville, Ohio

One of the coolest things about playing these types of gigs is meeting other artists and tonight we met Adrian Niles. We’ll share a bill with him at The Spot Bar and many other places, we hope, because the boy just oozes the blues. We had a great time seeing Ricky and Debbie Witkowski, Joe-Joe and the rest of the crew from Steubenville. The Fort is definitely a cool place to play and the soundman worked with us at ALL The Spot Bar Blues Festivals. Thanks for having us and we hope to see you next year!

Jul 23, 2008 AVONWORTH COMMUNITY PARK Pittsburgh PA

Avonworth Park is like coming home to Mahajibee. No, it is coming home to Mahajibee because we literally rehearse a couple miles away. This was about the 5th or 6th year in a row and it always feels like the first time. How can you lose? All ages, Free, and all kinds of parking. When they give us a Friday Night from 8p til midnight you better look out! Lisa Hall, Pat Wivell thank-you so much for discovering Mahajibee and for inviting us back home year after year. You two have done an amazing job for so long, we’ll miss you ! I hope you’ll have a lawn chair or a blanket in ’09 and be right there among the faithful. You guys were wonderful to us…. Many, many thanks! We always have a good time in Avonworth Park.

Thanks to the Avonworth Hackers, the golf league our Bass Player Big Tim belongs to. If it wasn’t for the golf league he’d go crazy!

Jul 22, 2008 PORT ERIE CONCERT SERIES Erie PA USA

We really didn’t expect what we got opening for Bernard Allison and all, but this was a really special night. The weather was unbelievable and beautiful and the blues fans . . . unreal! It was cool to sit in the trailer and talk with Bernard about traveling, playing, and everyday life. This is one smooth cat! This venue in Erie is worth the trip from the ‘Burgh on Tuesday! When things come together on stage with your band in front of this many people it’s hard to describe. Special thanks to all that we’re there from Pgh. and Erie and also to Jeff Kearns and especially Moondog for his support, faith and opportunity.

Jul 19, 2008 THE ENDLESS MOUNTAINS BLUES FESTIVAL Scranton, PA US of A

Another great cause and another fantastic effort and concert run by Mary Hyland, Mary Perry & Thomas Perry. It was extremely hot but the crowd of supporters were great (thanks to the sprinkler system). We wanted to spend all day at the festival but we’re older and maybe a little wiser and felt that if we were there all day that we might be drained by the time we had to play. We were willing to play all night or until they booted us out. Friar’s Point played a wonderful set and I was feeling their pain because the sun and humidity was brutal at that time of day. The attendees were real troopers and battled the sun all day. Lonny and Jon stepped it up and were jamming their butts off from the strat. The sweat felt good from the first tune to the last. This was our second trip to The Endless MT. Blues Fest and hopefully not the last. They have raised - $2,200, July 21, 2007 - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and $3,500.00 July 19th, 2008 - Disabled American Vets – both festivals that Mahajibee has played. They have raised a total of $21,375.00 since 2001 !!!!! We’re PROUD to say that we put a dent in that total. We had a wonderful time playing and Mahajibee is honored to be associated with this festival. Plain Sam, you’re the man, thanks for all of your encouragement and support.

Jul 18, 2008 BLUES STREET Scranton PA USA

Great food, nice room and atmosphere.
If you go to Scranton, PA make sure you stop!

Jul 11, 2008 STATION SQUARE STREET JAM, BLUES NIGHT Pittsburgh PA USA

Wow! A beautiful night in Station Square and a huge crowd made up of all ages were dancing in the street. It was truly one of those nights that you hated to see end. I think the Street Jam will certainly consider having another
"Blues Night".

Jul 5, 2008 34th ANNUAL WESTMORELAND ARTS & HERITAGE FESTIVAL Greensburg PA USA

It was our second year in a row and a tough act to follow after the 2007 show but we did it! It helps alot when the friends we've made playing in Greensburg and Legonier show their great support! It also helps when your soundman, Rick Baughman, does a great job as usual. We welcome all the "new" friends we made and thanks for purchasing a CD or t-shirt. The festival grounds were loaded with some great artists with some wonderful works. A sort of special day for the band as we all had some family members come to the show and enjoy the band's preformance. And what a show it was!! The wonderful crowd showed that no matter where you are, you can have a great blues party. The guys were on their game for sure!! Our thanks to a wonderful staff who helped us with gear (and a cool ride) We had a great time, and would love to return in the future.

Jul 4, 2008 4th OF JULY CELEBRATION! Steubenville, Ohio USA

In spite of a dismal day the Event Staff at the 4th of July did a fanastic job! Even Mother Nature couldn't prevent this. Great vendors, plenty of parking and the music . . .
The Fossils www.myspace.com/thefossils2007)
were excellent playing anything from Oldies & Blues to Contemporary tunes and these folks can sing. The sound company was extra helpful in the change over carrying gear to and fro but their expertise is sound and they were definately one of the best we've worked with. All in all it was a real good time, as usual for us in the Ohio Valley. We'll be back in a few weeks to play at The Berkman Amp. Thanks to Jacky & Bob Hines, Mayor Mucci and all the people running this event. Man, I hope they can somehow save the bridge!

Jun 28, 2008 HAVRE DE GRACE SUMMERTIME BLUES FESTIVAL Havre de Grace, Maryland MD USA

Saturday, June 28th we had the pleasure of performing at the Havre de Grace blues festival. We must say it is one of the most beautiful venues we have ever played. It is located near the shores of the Chesapeake Bay in the historical Susquehanna State Park. The actual venue is called the Steppingstone Farm Museum. It's no surprise that past perfromers include The Nighthawks, Michael Hill's Blues Mob, Alivin Youngblood Hart, Deanna Bogart, Chris Duarte and Deborah Coleman. This rustic setting on a hot day set the tone for some dancin', sweatin', gut-bucket get-on-your-feet blues. The other bands playing there were great and played to a responsive crowd who loved the blues. Mahajibee was cooking (literally at times), and Pat (Bighead) came out from behind the keys to give the crowd a lesson in blues harp! We loved the show, and would love to return again any ol'time! Special thanks to all the "new" Jibee fans who were kind enough to stop by the tent and say "hello", or purchase a cd, t-shirt and sign the e-mail list. Were looking forward to seeing all of you in Scranton, PA at The Endless Mt. Blues Fest. July 19th, a benefit the Disabled American Veterans. We're closing the Festival and we're geared-up for a big blues party!

Jun 19, 2008 MARKET SQUARE Pittsburgh PA USA

We've played this event about 6 times now and it is one that keeps getting better and better. The Three Rivers Arts Festival was happening at the time and it definately added to the great atmosphere. The good folks at the 100.7 FM booth sold a boat load of cd's for us and were a tremendous help. Thanks to all who stayed until 1:00 eventhough they knew that the bossman was going to give them the "evil eye" when they got back to the office!

Jun 7, 2008 JEFFERSON HILLS SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

It was a HOT Saturday evening in the park but not hotter than the guitar playing of Lonny and Jon Paul. These cats were on fire! Beautiful venue, great sound and a great bunch of people. Special thanks to all the Blues Society members who attended. Til the next time. Pat Tevis

May 17, 2008 MAGIC SLIM @ MOONDOG'S Blawnox, PA US of A

It was a Magic night with Magic Slim and The Teardrops. We had the honor of opening for the Magic Man and it was out of sight. This is one cool dude and he looks twice as big in person with his cowboy hat on. Sitting in the back having a couple drinks (not ones by the way) and talking shop was definately a highlight. We had a great set and he just sounded fantastic! The crowd was definately a good blues crowd and that made for a better night. If you go to our "Press" section you can read a revue of the show written by
Jim White - Pgh. Post-Gazette Blue Notes.
