Founded in 2007, by the Team of Troy Schell & Rebecca Jernigan, Kansas City Online Radio streams from our studios in Prairie Village, Kansas (suburb of Kansas City.)  Formed to return "Locally" owned and operated Radio to Kansas City.  Providing an outlet for Local, National, International Independent & Major Blues, Blues-Rock Artists and Unique & Entertaining Talk Radio.

            I met this band at the Heritage Blues Festival in Wheeling, WV in 2007, then saw them there again in 2009. On my first encounter I had sauntered back to the second stage and was captivated by their sound. I sat down in the grass and said to myself  “I’m not leaving until they are done and I don’t care who is on the main stage”.

            It was a wonderful “Blues Experience”. They gave me a CD self-titled Mahajibee, and we talked about the Blues and how important the music was in our lives.

            Mahajibee is a nonsense word one might say when you can’t think of something else to add to a phrase. This is a no nonsense band, however, from Pittsburgh. Having started in 2000, this band consists of “Big Tim” Ambrass on bass & guitar, Lonny “Lick” Holdby also on bass & guitar, Chazz Kramer on guitar and doing vocals, Brent “Junior” McConnell on drums and Patrick “Bighead” Tevis with harp, keys, and vocals.

            All of the songs on the CD are originals except for tracks 4, 8, & 10. Although I like every song on the CD, those catching my attention were a social conscience song “Little Man”. We can all sit back and reflect upon the words in this one.

            Fun songs include “Hard Headed Man”, “Honey Do List”,and “Play My Numbers” which is getting a huge amount of radio playtime across the U.S.

            The two smooth and blue soul songs are “Blues Guitar” and “In Her Head”. Sit and sway in your chair or get up and hold that special partner in your arms and do your thing.

            One of the great things to happen for Mahajibee this year was having opened for B.B. King in Pittsburgh. Miss Ella opened the door for Brent McConnell to be interviewed by Yasmine Bowe-Woods from New York on her blog talk radio show.

Is extremely proud to announce that they will be participating with the Beale Street Caravan Radio Network in a broadcast of The Pittsburgh Blues Festival 2010!  The Beale Street Caravan Radio Network is the largest blues radio program in the world with 2.5 million weekly listeners and can be heard in Pittsburgh on 91.3 WYEP-FM on Saturday nights at Midnight following The Blues and Rhythm Show with BumbleBee Slim and Big Town Blues with Wrett Weatherspoon.

 It is also broadcasted on over 350 public stations in the USA and over 400 stations air the internationally.  Globally, the program is part of NPR Worldwide's 24-hour schedule . In Tokyo, Japan, the program is on both on The Eagle 810  , an affiliate of AFRTN, and USEN 440 audio cable system. New Zealand broadacasts Beale Street Caravan® on its 26 station National Radio Network, Radio NZ . In Australia, Beale Street Caravan is distributed to 141 stations by the Community Broadcast Association of Australia  . In Africa and Asia the program is available on the World Space satellite.
